As Experian Hitwise announces that social networks have, for the first time, overtaken search engines in UK internet traffic, it appears that Facebook is (perhaps unsurprisingly) the king of the social networking sites while Google retains the position of the most visited website overall.

May 2010 was the first month where social networks have commanded more traffic than search engines, making it all the more important to spread your communications throughout the entire digital PR sphere.
