Sarah
Ever since I won a prize in Primary School for writing a (rather biased) story involving Arsenal legend Ian Wright being kidnapped by evil Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson, I dreamt that whatever my vocation in life was, I would always have the opportunity to write.
Funnily enough, the very same teacher who praised my written work was constantly chastising me for never shutting up during class (despite my protests that I was merely developing my communication skills). I have always loved interacting with others so what I find brilliant about working in PR, apart from the writing, is that you are actively encouraged to talk all day – whether it is to a journalist, client or colleague.
I bore easily, so I definitely needed to find a career where I’d be able to avoid a routine. In PR I’ve found it. My day can change tack in a second if a good press opportunity comes up for a client; a factor which always keeps me on my toes.
