During the 80s I spent some time as a Marketing Director for both UK and Pan-European businesses. I realised then that the real commercial power of PR for me was in helping to increase and support sales! OK, so there were other good reasons like increasing the value of the business but supporting the sales process was, and still is, key. As a result, I founded itpr in 1990 as a technology PR consultancy which focuses on B2B markets and set about developing programmes that deliver the right kind of PR support for businesses of all sizes. When I’m not in the office you can often find me on the golf course with clients or friends or enjoying a very occasional (these days) game of cricket. On a Sunday I enjoy a regular game of tennis with my mates. Which conveniently finishes just as the pub opens. The landlord likes to refer to us as ‘athletes’ whilst we drink Guinness as a ‘warm down’– his sense of humour is as good as the beer he serves! |
